Progression in rank promotions is not solely based on the ability of a student to meet the requirements listed below. It is Ryukoku Honbu's belief that advancement in Karate accounts for a whole person concept and suggests the dojo Senseis consider other factors such as good behavior, a spirit of effort, good school grades for the young students, and good conduct in the dojo and community.

Board Promotion System: A new system has been developed by RSKKR's Technical Advisers to be used at local dojo, regional, and national belt promotion tests. It is a principle-based Karate test that bridges the gap between the different dojos.
