PI DESCRIPTION

Professor Christina Tsai received a BS degree in Civil Engineering from National Taiwan University, Taiwan, and MS degrees in both Civil and Environmental Engineering and Applied Mathematics, and a PhD degree in Civil and Environmental Engineering from University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign. From 2002-2011, she held a faculty position in the Civil, Structural and Environmental Engineering department at State University of New York at Buffalo. In 2008, Professor Tsai received a CAREER award from the National Science Foundation for her work in “Stochastic modeling and uncertainty analysis of sediment transport in regular and extreme surface flow environments.” Professor Tsai is currently a Professor in the department of Civil Engineering at National Taiwan University. Her research projects are primarily funded by the National Science Foundation in the US, and the Ministry of Science and Technology (NSF equivalent) in Taiwan.
