Class Projects
The endless possibilities of child hood and memories of a time now out of reach as well a more restrained depiction of the real world in these coasters represents my journey as an artist.
With this project i used Illustrator's clip mask as well as image trace tools to place a vectorized image of a cathedral inside a coaster shape. Other tools i applied to this project is using Illustrator's shape builder tools and pencil tools in creating my tree dragon and tomoe designs seen on the left. additionally Text warp and gradients were applied to each coaster to fill negative space and enhance the harmony of the designs.
A witch at work. An extreme perspective captures the curious yet dangerous nature of a witches work as she peeks from behind a cauldron.
The core of this artwork was use illustrators Pen tool Path finder tools to create the various shapes seen in this artwork as well as the width tool to manipulate some strokes.
Also integral to the work was use of layers and arrangement of layers.
Implying a sense of movement is an almost paint like depiction of the sky which seems to drag behind as it spins around.
Hanging stars and wispy clouds adds an ephemeral quality.
