Introduction
Welcome to my e-portfolio! It is my hope that these pages will demonstrate a teaching philosophy that is built upon nurturing students to believe in themselves as they stretch toward attaining their highest levels of achievement. First, I suggest that you read my teaching philosophy listed below. Next, as you browse through this website, you will see how the beliefs espoused in that document, connect to the student work, images, and resources on display in this site. Thank you for your time. Enjoy!
Autobiography
After spending more than 20 years in Corporate America, I decided to follow my heart and become a teacher.
In January 2016, I earned a Master of Arts degree in Teaching. Shortly thereafter, I was hired as a Resource Teacher.
Over the years, I've taught ELA, Social Studies, Math, and Health for Special Education, General Education, and ESL students, from grades Pre-K to 8th grade. The variety of settings in which I've taught are: the regular school day, afterschool programs, tutoring on weekends, summer school, and in-home instruction.
Every school year, I've worked diligently to ensure that my students show growth in their reading, writing, and math skills. It has been my privilege and honor, that many of these students, each year, have met their year-end goals for various metrics used over the years.
For further information about my educational and professional qualifications, please request to see my resumé and teaching certificates. You may also view additional teaching related certificates I've earned, below.
Please be aware that my personal philosophy of education is also available on this website. It's my hope that my passion for teaching is evident not only in that document, but also in these pages.
