SEEN is the SouthEast Emergency Network!
URL: senetwork.us
SEEN is a local emergency communications group in Alabama and is an affiliate of the American Redoubt Radio Operators Network (AmRRON). SEEN is not intended to replace any formal emergency agency entity in any municipality, county, or state. Rather, SEEN is a resource to be deployed as needed within our local areas during an RWE and to act as a liaison to AmRRON for the purposes of passing information from local areas or regions in the case of a major event.
This Website...
This website is not the SEEN website. This website is dedicated to the Saturday check-in only. The purpose is to develop, hone, and maintain a skill set that may be needed in case of an emergency. Any station, anywhere is welcome to participate in the SEEN Saturday Check-In. It is NOT a net but rather an informal check-in using VarAC (https://www.varac-hamradio.com/).
The format is to send an EMAIL via VarAC (click the Send Vmail button, and then check the "Send to Email" box). Set the subject line "SEEN Saturday Check-In". The body of the email should contain your call sign, your name, location (city, state, country), and the mode used VHF or HF. Example: K4THR, Mark, Madison, AL, HF. Click the Send button and VarAC will put it in your outbox. Connect to a VarAC email gateway and the software will basically take it from there.
That's it. The emails received will be summarized and posted on this site's home page.
