Fall 2012
University of Florida - Design and Manufacturing Lab (DML)
As part of a four-person group I designed, built and tested a tele-operated robot capable completing a game challenge. The focus of the lab was the mechanical design and manufacture of the robot, as a result the design teams had no input on the electrical or software subsystems.
Game Description
The purpose of the game was to collect four tennis balls from the ground and two tennis balls suspended from the ceiling by a chain. Once collected, the six balls had to be deposited in a free-standing plastic bucket. Team rankings were dependent on the number of balls collected as well as the time required for completion of the course. Each team was limited to a total of four motors.
