This micro-credential introduces core concepts of social cohesion and inclusion within African Higher Education Institutions. Drawing on global frameworks and institutional best practices, the course supports participants to critically reflect on inclusion within their own universities and to explore practical strategies for building more equitable, accessible and socially responsive learning environments.
Through pre-recorded input, selected readings, a live case study from the UNINA–SINAPSi Centre, group activities and a structured final reflection, participants will gain theoretical insights and applied tools to strengthen inclusive practice across their institutions.
By the end of this micro-credential, participants will be able to:
Define key concepts of social cohesion, exclusion, segregation, integration and inclusion in higher education.
Identify global frameworks and institutional responsibilities related to inclusive practice.
Critically reflect on the current state of inclusion within their own HEIs.
Analyse the SINAPSi Centre as an institutional example of inclusive student support and anti-discriminatory practice.
Design a small evidence-informed inclusion action plan or self-assessment tool for their own HEI.
Contribute to a structured evaluation of inclusion initiatives and suggest context-specific improvements.
