About SEED-2022
5th Software Engineering EDucation Workshop (SEED-2022) aims to provide a unique forum to bring together researchers, educators, students, and practitioners to report on their experiences and their ongoing efforts in meeting the recent demands of remote teaching and learning in Software Engineering.
It brings together experienced as well as novice software engineering educators, and industry practitioners to a common platform to discuss how to train software engineers in the uncertain situations COVID-19 has created for us. Strategies for project-based learning, hybrid learning, blended learning, use of tools in teaching and learning are specifically targeted in this workshop. Further, it aims to provide a unique opportunity to SE educators and practitioners to come together and build collaborations for SE education research and practice.
Topics of interest include, but are not limited to:
Practices and Case studies of making a transition to SE remote learning
Strategies for curriculum and assessment design in the evolving SE
Assessment methods in software engineering
Resources, Technologies, and tools that support software engineering education
Educational research on software engineering
Essential skills for software engineers in view of emerging technology trends e.g. Cloud, Artificial Intelligence and Machine Learning, Internet of Things(IoT), Virtual Reality, Robotics
Continuing education and on-the-job training of software engineers
Experiences outside the classroom concerning Software Engineering Education.
Target Audience
This workshop is open to anyone interested but not limited to:
Educators teaching SE courses
Course and curriculum designers for SE continuing education programs
Tool creators for supporting SE teaching programs
Practitioners and Trainers from industry who engage with on-the-job training for software engineers
PhD students interested in software engineering education
Important Dates
Workshop paper submissions due: 15 January 2022 AOE. (Closed)
Notification to workshop paper authors: 31 January 2022 AOE. (Closed)
Camera Ready deadline: 15 February 2022 AOE (Closed).
Workshop: 24 February 2022 (9 am to 12 noon IST).
Submissions Guidelines
Paper submissions : Interested authors would submit papers via the Easychair submission link (SEED-2022).
Papers should not exceed 8 pages, including references in standard CEUR proceedings format (single column): http://ceur-ws.org/Vol-XXX/CEURART.zip
Submitted papers will be reviewed by a program committee. Review criteria would include the relevance of the paper to the audience, overall quality of the written paper, likely benefit to the participants of the workshop.
Authors of accepted papers have to register for the workshop.
