To log in to Canopy Tax on your desktop, open your browser and visit the official Canopytax.com login page. Enter your registered email and password, then complete any two-factor authentication steps. Once verified, you’ll access your dashboard and begin managing your tax workflows easily.
Open your web browser
Use a modern browser such as Chrome, Firefox, Edge, or Safari. Make sure it’s up to date.
Go to the official login page
Type the official Canopy URL into the address bar (or use your bookmarked login page). Always check for the padlock (🔒) in the address bar to ensure the site is secure.
Enter your email address
Type the email you registered with Canopy Tax into the “Email” or “Username” field.
Enter your password
Carefully type your password. If you use a password manager, autofill is fine and recommended.
Click “Log In”
Press the login button. If your credentials are correct, you’ll proceed to verification (if enabled) or straight to your dashboard.
Complete two-factor authentication (if enabled)
If 2FA is set up, enter the verification code sent to your phone or generated by your authenticator app. Then click “Verify” or “Submit.”
Reach your dashboard
Once verified, you’ll land on your Canopy dashboard where you can access clients, files, billing, and workflows.
Wrong password: Click Forgot Password and follow the reset steps sent to your email.
Forgot email: Check emails from Canopy in your inbox or contact support.
2FA problems: If you didn’t receive the code, request a new code or use the authenticator app backup codes.
Browser issues: Clear cache/cookies or try an incognito/private window.
Account locked: Too many failed attempts may lock the account temporarily — wait a few minutes and try again or contact support.
Bookmark the official login page to avoid phishing.
Use a password manager to store a strong, unique password.
Enable 2FA for extra security.
Avoid logging in on public/shared computers.
