The Secret Families Story

Secret Families is a charitable organization built on the premise of ONE FAMILY HELPING ONE FAMILY.  In December of 2004, Chris and Al Holdren decided to not buy presents for each other for Christmas and use the money to provide a family in need with a tree and presents for the holidays. The rest is history!  Secret Families of Delaware County has grown to sponsor roughly 400 families per year with help from hundreds of donors and thousands of volunteers just like you.  They have garnered the attention of national news organizations such as NBC’s Today Show.

Several Randolph County Families had taken part in Secret Families in Delaware County for several years.  After catching “the bug”, the decision was made to bring Secret Families to Randolph County.  The very first Secret Families of Randolph County event took place just a year ago, on December 9th, 2017.  On this day, 88 families in Randolph County were blessed with Christmas.  Since then, hundreds of families and a few thousand individuals have been served.  This year’s event will take place on December 12th, 2020.  Shopping will occur at Meijer of Muncie with wrapping and operations taking part at Farmland Friends Church.  Our sponsored families come exclusively from local school principals throughout Randolph County.
