Get to know me!
My name is Secret Johnson, an 18-year-old high school senior dedicated to excellence in both academics and personal growth. I am currently enrolled in Honors Food and Nutrition II and have earned my ServSafe Food Handler certification, demonstrating my commitment to developing real-world skills alongside my education.
I consistently challenge myself to grow, not only in the classroom but also through volunteering and community involvement. These experiences have strengthened my leadership, responsibility, and ability to connect with others.
One of the most important parts of who I am is my passion for cooking. What started as watching my dad and grandmother in the kitchen turned into something much deeper. Cooking is not just something I enjoy. It is where I feel focused, creative, and confident. Over time, I’ve taken initiative to cook for family, friends, and events, turning a personal passion into something that brings people together.
Although my roots include Jamaican and Bahamian culture, my cooking style reflects bold Southern flavors, often centered around savory and spiced dishes.
Looking ahead, I plan to pursue a career in education, either as an elementary school teacher or a high school Food and Nutrition teacher. I want to inspire others the same way I’ve been inspired, whether that’s in a classroom or a kitchen. My goal is to create environments where people feel encouraged to learn, grow, and believe in their abilities.
Current Inspirations
Valerie Bertinelli has been a huge inspiration to me since I knew the word "kitchen". I chose Valerie as one of my inspirations because her love for cooking and sharing meals makes her feel happy and I feel the same way. Food can bring people together. She teaches you to stay true to yourself and handle challenges with grace, all while enjoying the little things in life.
