Who we are
We are a Canadian-owned and operated company, based in Green Valley, Ontario; and it is important for us to work with local companies for our products and marketing needs. Our aluminum manufacturer, our marketing and decal/design companies are all in Eastern Ontario.
We are also committed to serving the Canadian market, which is why we have purposefully chosen a .ca domain.
As equestrians ourselves, we noticed a gap in the Canadian market for affordable custom aluminum tack lockers made in Canada, while looking for tack lockers for ourselves. We were frustrated with the exorbitant extra fees (VAT taxes, duty, tariffs, sea/air freight charges) that other countries, known in the tack locker business, were charging (an extra $3000 to $5000) for each tack locker. We therefore decided to start our own company, Secrecy Vaults, to provide an affordable local product for Canadian equestrians.
Why the name Secrecy Vaults?
Secrecy is a play on our foundation mare’s name, Secret Destiny FCM, aka Sissi; by the Oldenburg Stallion Secret, showing on the Dressage circuit with CEO, Julie Bellavance-Caron; as well as we also describe our farm and company as a well kept secret, tucked away in a forest.
We also decided on the term Vaults for our products and company name to distinguish ourselves from other equine tack locker companies and, because our saddles, bridles and equine apparel deserve to be in a secure and safe vault, while we are at horse shows.
