Second Chance of Life & Hope Church
A Church Anchored in Love and Forgiveness
On May 1st 2016, Pastor Willie T. Bullock heard a word from God and Second Chance of Life and Hope Church of the Apostolic Faith was born! The same day the vision and mission was formulated and put into action! Pastor Bullock recognized that true love forgives and as instructed by the Lord formed “A Church Anchored in Love & Forgiveness” which many struggle with today. On May 1, 2016, our first service started at 11am with just 8 members! It had already been a dream to continue in his uncle’s footsteps, the late and great District Elder Ellis Houston. Under District Elder Houston’s tutelage, the entire family was saved and complete in Jesus! The foundation laid many years ago, had now ignited a strong desire to continue the legacy of the true Apostolic faith that transformed Pastor Bullock and his family’s lives! Throughout the years, many Pastors ministered to their hearts and souls and were very influential in their proper spiritual growth.
The first Bible Study started on May 20th and then soon after due to the amount of youth and young adults in our congregation, we started Friday Night Youth Services for which a Youth Council was formed! Our first visitor came on Father’s Day just one month after opening and many came soon thereafter! The congregation began to grow as new members took the Right Hand of Fellowship and then Esther’s Courage Women’s Ministry was formed by First Lady Delores Bullock.
Pastor & First Lady Bullock opened their home to begin this ministry of reconciliation and restoration under the unction of the Lord initially as an independent ministry. However, in November 2016, Pastor Bullock reached out to Suffragan Bishop Marvin L. Jenkins to speak of the ministry and after meeting was invited to attend the D.C., Delaware & Maryland District Council for which we were so blessed to attend and by unanimous vote was accepted by the council as a new church! On April 21, 2019, our very own First Lady Bullock was named 1st Assistant Pastor by Pastor Bullock. Pastor & First Lady Bullock was overwhelmed with joy to be back home under the Pentecostal Assemblies of the World, Inc. Often stating there’s no place like home!!!
On July 18, 2021, Second Chance of Life and Hope Church begin having Sunday Morning Worship services at the Bay Forest Senior Community Center. The first service had 12 visitors and 2 members from the building to attend. Due to the desire for more services, we added Sunday School onsite as well during the COVID19 Pandemic with just 4 visitors attending. Each week new visitors come to join in worship!
