We are a KRas biology lab particularly interested in understanding the mechanism by which tumors become addicted to mutant KRas, identifying defective pathways driven by mt KRas and developing novel anticancer drugs based on interfering with these pathways. The lab expertise spans from cancer molecular and cellular biology, computational biology, drug design and discovery to validation in human cancer cells, animal models, and biomarker-driven human clinical trials of novel anticancer drugs.
We are currently recruiting post-docs and scientists with expertise in cancer molecular and cellular biology, computational biology/bioinformatics and crystallography. Key responsibilities: (1) assisting in development and maintenance of regulatory approvals for research protocols, IACUC, Material Transfer Agreements, Confidentiality Agreements and research sponsored research agreements (2) coordinating lab operations such as maintaining inventories, ordering supplies, and general maintenance, (3) Assisting in documenting and maintaining standard operating procedures, and (4) Providing administrative support in preparation of grants, abstracts, presentations, as well as assisting with scheduling and communications on behalf of the Principal Investigator.

The candidate must have a proven track record in cloning, protein expression, protein purification, and crystallographic structure determination of proteins and protein-ligand complexes.

Senior Research Scientists are sought to join the laboratory of Dr. Sebti at the NCI designated Massey Cancer Center and the Department of Pharmacology and Toxicology at VCU. The candidate will be responsible for projects concerning understanding aberrant oncogenic KRas signal transduction pathways in cancer in the context of KRas addiction.
