La Spirale
La Spirale is an imagetextual revisitation of my own children's drawings between 1982 and 1990. As with Tintin en radiographie, I collected graphic elements (figures, motifs, words, traces) by redrawing on calque papers. I verbally interpreted the resulting plates by focusing on related memories and signifying as well as purely phonetic associations. I intersected this perlaborated subtext with quotes from literary, philosophical and psychoanalytical fragments by Agamben, Benjamin, Sarraute, Lacan et.al.
La Spirale was published in the framework of the COMICS project funded by the European Research Council (ERC) under the European Union's Horizon 2020 research and innovation programme, since it was commissioned by Maaheen Ahmed and Benoît Crucifix as part of the Children's Drawings in Comics conference at GUM Forum on the 24th and 25th of May 2022, where it was presented.
