Teaching philosophy

My teaching portfolio spans a broad range of courses in financial accounting, tax accounting, corporate taxation, and empirical accounting research. My teaching philosophy centers on helping students understand the complex relationship between financial and tax accounting. After establishing a solid foundation in core accounting concepts, I guide students in examining where the two systems align, where and why they diverge, and what these differences imply for firms, taxpayers, and regulators. By combining practical examples and classroom discussion with evidence from academic research, I encourage students not only to master technical rules but also to critically evaluate their underlying rationales and real-world consequences. Ultimately, my goal is to equip students with the analytical skills and informed judgment needed to understand both the benefits and challenges arising from the interaction of financial reporting and taxation.
