Hi! My name is Sebastian and I recently finished my Ph.D. in (Applied) Mathematics under the supervision of Willhelm Stannat at TU Berlin. I was part of the IRTG 2544, and I am currently funded through the SFB 1294.
In my Ph.D. thesis I investigated probabilistic algorithms, in particular mean-field Monte Carlo methods, with applications in Filtering/Data Assimilation and Computational Fluid Dynamics. My research is concerened with both the derivation/implementation as well as the mathematical theory of such algorithms. Furthermore I am interested in Machine Learning approaches to such problems.
During my undergraduate studies I focussed on the analysis and numerical approximation of PDEs, as well as their usage for modelling in the natural sciences. In particular I wrote my master thesis on a reaction cross diffusion system describing ion transport through confined geometries.
You can find my work on the arxiv or via my Google Scholar Profile.
