Bio

Currently, I work as an applied mathematician (R&D) at Siemens (DI SW EDA).

Before, I was a PIMS postdoctoral fellow in the Department of Mathematics & Statistics at the University of Saskatchewan. I worked under the supervision of Prof. Raymond Spiteri (Department of Computer Science) in the Numerical Simulation Lab. My research interests are mainly in applied mathematics, numerical analysis, scientific computing, mathematical modelling, eigenvalue problems, and the finite element methods.

I completed my PhD in Applied and Computational Mathematics in the Department of Mathematics at Simon Fraser University, where I worked under the supervision of Profs. Nilima Nigam (Department of Mathematics) and James Wakeling (Department of Biomedical Physiology and Kinesiology). Shortly after completing my PhD I moved with my family to Saskatoon, Canada to start my postdoctoral position at the University of Saskatchewan.

I completed my BSc in Mathematical Engineering in the Departamento de Ingenieria Matematica at the Universidad de Concepcion, Chile in 2012. In early 2015 I obtained my certification as Mathematical Engineer in the Departamento de Ingenieria Matematica at Universidad de Concepcion. My undergraduate thesis was supervised by Prof. Gabriel N. Gatica from CI2MA. Later that same year I moved to Vancouver, Canada along with my wife and child to start my PhD studies at Simon Fraser University.

I enjoy spending time with my family both indoors and outdoors. We love travelling around the globe and going on road trips in Summer. I am a coffee and red wine lover, and enjoy cooking and gathering with friends in my spare time.
