Welcome to my website!
I am a 5th year Ph.D. student at the UCLA Anderson School of Management. I am an Applied Microeconomist with research projects in the fields of Urban Economics and Political Economy, all drawing on European or American Economic History. You can find my C.V. here.
I will join Northwestern University's Center for Economic History as a Postdoctoral Research Fellow in September 2021, and CERGE-EI (a joint workplace of Charles University in Prague and the Czech Academy of Sciences) as an Assistant Professor in September 2022.
In my research, I study how skilled European immigrants affected initial patterns of manufacturing specialization across the United States which persisted until the present, the causal role of political leaders in shaping the modern map of Europe, and political competition as an incentive for divisive propaganda, drawing on the U.S. South after Reconstruction.
