Seaweed BD is a youth-led initiative based in Cox's Bazar, Bangladesh, focused on promoting the blue economy through cultivating and commercializing seaweed. Established in 2019, Seaweed BD is the first private sector initiative in Bangladesh to actively work on farming, branding, and promoting Bangladeshi seaweed domestically and internationally. The company aims to empower underprivileged coastal communities through seaweed farming, providing them with socio-economic opportunities. With a network of trained farmers, enthusiastic youth workers, and a commitment to environmental sustainability, Seaweed BD aims to become a leading seaweed producer globally.
