The Cyclones have made the playoffs 3 times, in seasons 86, 88 and 91.
Season 86:
Season 86:
The Cyclones opened up the season with an 18-3 win over the Cleveland Golds, sparking win streaks of 5 and 6, to put them at 11-1 early, with the only loss being 3-2 to the ill-fated Pueblo Pineapples. Hudson McCutcheon was traded to the Yonkers River Rats, where he would hit .335 with 24 homers. In return they got Keon Keyes, Eli Santoro and Vicente Alva. Though the loss of hot Hudson may have hurt the team in the near future, getting 3 good starters would be better in the long run. At midseason, the Cyclones were 24-6. But shaky pitching caused the team to slog to a 37-23 finish, and a matchup with the Pineapples, which they lost 7-4. The 126 homers of season 86 is a record that still stands today, as well as the .538 slugging percentage.
Season 88:
Season 88:
Seattle started out well once again, with a 3-0 record in extra inning games propelling them 2 a 15-6 start. With Keon Keyes (.269, 9 HRs, 29 RBIs), Latrell Gleason (.329, 13 HRs, 34 RBIs), Eli Santoro (.278, 11 HRs, 30 RBIs) and Gaspard Garay (.331, 23 HRs, 54 RBIs) all hitting back to back, the Cyclones hitting was as good as ever. With better pitching from Matias Valverde (7-2, 2.28 ERA) and Richie Pelayo (4-0, 2.46 ERA) the Cyclones were a more balanced team. They finished 38-21, and were once more pitted against the Pineapples in the first round, which culminated in a 9-7 loss in 12 innings.
Season 91:
Season 91:
Bolstered by acquisitions of Syed Lawhorn (7-1, 3.42 ERA), Braden Phillips (.312, 13 HRs, 41 RBIs) and the continued consistency of Sterling Dasilva (.347, 20 HRs, 51 RBIs), the Cyclones were expected to win the division, and they did. A team ERA of 3.97 helped the team to a 42-18 record, and the 6 seed in a loaded Alta Canyon. They faced the Oakland ObZen. Game 1 was a massacre with Oakland winning 7-1. It looked like the Cyclones would be swept, but Braden Phillips came through with a walk-off 3-run homer to win 9-7 and send it to a 3rd game. Sadly, Seattle could not advance, losing 5-4.
