Carnes throws masterpiece, Cyclones defeat Blue Jays, 3-2

9 A.M, Dec. 6. Blue Jays @ Cyclones. If the Jays win, they open up a 2 game lead in the division race over Seattle, as well as adding to their tiebreaking point potential. Many Seattle fans weren't optimistic, as Carnes has a 9.53 ERA, to Toronto's Timm's 1.50. But Fabian returned to his season 91 form, throwing 6 innings of 3 hit, 1 run ball, and hit a homer to help put the Cyclones up 2-1 after 6. Seattle manager brought in Aditya Vallejo, who struck out 4 Blue Jays in 2 innings, and when Sterling Dasilva singled in Kellen Wagner to extend Seattle's lead to 3-1. Though closer Nigel Clarkson attempted to blow his 2nd save in 4 attempts (he's out of a job), Alan Lowe (0-0, 3.38 ERA in 16 IP) came in to shut out the Jays in a 3-2 win.

The Cyclones were facing the Bellingham Surfers, a decades old franchise, that has struggled recently (12-48 last season). Seattle had a 1-0 lead early, but Bellingham clawed back to take a 3-1 lead. A 4-run 5th helped the Cyclones take the lead again, and they scored another in the 8th to go up 6-3. But the Surfers would not give up scoring 1 in the 8th and 2 in the 9th to tie it at 6 and send it to extras. The Cyclones got a runner on early, but then got 2 straight outs. Octavio Fox singled to make it 1st and 2nd with 2 outs. The Surfers pitcher was gassed and the Cyclones had their 3rd baseman up.....Sterling Dasilva. But Dasilva wasn't in the game, as he had played every single game of the season, and was getting a short rest before the 7 P.M. tilt with the 13-3 Toledo Mudhens. Instead, it was Ivan London, who is 1-13 in his career, and 0-1 that game. Burney (the pitcher) managed to get to a 2-2 count, before he tried to throw a slider on the inside corner. Instead, he hung it, and London hit his 1st career homer in game-winning fashion.
