With roughly 500 Equity members in the area, Seattle has a wide variety of accomplished and professional theatre companies. A picturesque landscape of mountains, forests, and waterways, the Puget Sound area is a mecca for inspiration and creativity. Many new works developed here have enjoyed successful national, international, Broadway and Off-Broadway productions.
Annually, Theatre Puget Sound's Unified General Auditions bring together representatives from theatres large and small, as well as freelance producers and directors from across the region. Our larger theatres hold regular EPAs as well.
Equity is also a proud sponsor of the Gregory Awards, an annual peer-judged awards ceremony that celebrates and honors the outstanding achievements of local theatre artists, and highlights the vibrant Seattle theatre community.

Land Acknowledgement
We recognize and acknowledge that the stages we work on all around the Puget Sound region have been built on the ancestral lands of the Coast Salish peoples (centrally in Seattle, the Duwamish and Suquamish tribes), including the 23 signatory tribes of the federally unfulfilled Point Elliott Treaty. We honor their history as the first to tell their stories on this ground, and we work toward a greater respect for our shared presence on the land today.
We understand that this acknowledgement does not take the place of authentic relationships with indigenous communities, but serves as a first step in honoring the land we are on.
Members who live and work in the Seattle may show solidarity with our indigenous community through programs such as Real Rent Duwamish and by supporting local native-owned businesses.
We encourage further steps toward education and solidarity be taken by those employed in long-term leadership positions with local producing companies, as well as those of us whose employment moves between companies.
