Prof. Amit Sheth is an Educator, Researcher and Entrepreneur. He is an Ohio Eminent Scholar, executive director of Ohio Center of Excellence in Knowledge-enabled Computing, and an IEEE Fellow (2006). He is among the 100 most cited computer scientists (h-index = 95), and top few authors in World Wide Web and Semantic Web. He has founded three companies by licensing his university-led research, including the first Semantic Web company in 1999 that pioneered technology similar to what is found today in Google Semantic Search and Knowledge Graph. Several commercial products and deployed systems have resulted from his research. He is particularly proud of his students’ exceptional success in academia, industry research labs and as entrepreneurs. Dr. Rushi Bhatt is a Director of Engineering at LinkedIn, Bangalore. Previously he worked for Amazon as Machine learning Scientist and Manager. He has interest in AI, Machine Learning, Relevance Engineering at LinkedIn, Dr. Bhatt is an alum of Boston University. At Amazon he worked on mainly, large scale text classification of millions of short documents into thousands of categories from a hierarchical taxonomy. Managed a small team of scientists and engineers working on various large scale ML solutions.
Dr. Vinay Jammu is Vice President, Physical-Digital Analytics in Digital Research Organization in GE Global Research. He is responsible for labs located in Bangalore and Schenectady, NY, that are focused on driving domain-based analytics to differentiate GE’s Industrial Internet Solutions. In addition, Vinay serves as focal point for 400-member analytics teams across GE India Technology Centers in Pune, Mumbai, Hyderabad and Bangalore.
Vinay obtained his doctoral degree from University of Massachusetts, Amherst in 1996 in Mechanical Engineering with specialization in applications of Artificial Intelligence (AI) for machine diagnosis. After a brief stint at Mechanical Technology Inc, NY, he joined GE Global Research, Schenectady, NY in 1997 as Diagnostics Engineer where he focused on developing predictive analytics for failure and life prediction of industrial assets. Vinay relocated to Bangalore in 2002 and held multiple roles as Lab Manager and Technology Leader in Aero-Thermal and Mechanical Systems organization in GE Global Research. Vinay is a certified master black belt, has 38 patents applications, and 60+ internal and external publications.
Dr. Mehul S Raval joined Ahmedabad University as an Associate Professor in 2013. Earlier he served DA-IICT (2008-2013), Gandhinagar and Sarvajanik College of Engineering and Technology (SCET), Surat (1997 - 2008), India. He was a visiting faculty to SVNIT (2005 - 2007) Surat and Veer Narmad South Gujarat University (2004 - 2008), Surat, India. Dr. Raval visited Graduate School of Natural Science and Technology, Okayama University, Japan during July- August 2016 under Sakura science exchange program sponsored by Japan Science and Technology (JST), Govt. of Japan. He was an Argosy visiting Associate Professor at Olin College of Engineering, MA, US during Fall 2016. His area of interest Image processing, Reversible watermarking, Soft biometrics, Machine Learning, Computer Vision.
Dr. Srikrishnan Divakaran completed his Ph.D. in Computer Science in 2002 from Rutgers University, New Brunswick, USA. Then, from 2002 to 2008 he worked as an Assistant Professor in the Computer Science department at Hofstra University, Long Island, NY, as Associate Professor at DAIICT from 2009 to 2016 before joining School of Engineering and Applied Sciences at Ahmedabad University in 2017. Dr. Divakaran has nearly 20 years of research and over 15 years of teaching experience and over five years industry experience at leading multi-national companies in computing and finance. Dr. Divakaran has taught a wide range of courses in Computer Science as well as related disciplines like Bioinformatics and Operations Research, and has a strong research background in designing algorithms for problems with applications in bioinformatics/computational biology, distributed systems and operations research.
Dr. Ratnik Gandhi is an Assistant Professor with School of Engineering and Applied Science, Ahmedabad University. Before joining AU he was a postdoctoral fellow with Tel Aviv University, Israel and Tata Institute of Fundamental Research (TIFR), Mumbai. He obtained his PhD and MTech in Information and Communication Technology from Dhirubhai Ambani Institute (DA-IICT), Gandhinagar, in 2011 and 2005 respectively, and his BE in Computer Engineering from Dharamsinh Desai University, Nadiad, in 2002.
