Season is an offline-first wellness app. We do not operate user accounts or cloud servers for your health logs.

Under the EU General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR), we are not required to appoint a Data Protection Officer because we do not carry out large-scale processing of special categories of data on our servers.

2. SUMMARY
Your cycle, symptom, journal, and wellness data are stored only on your device, encrypted.
We do not sell your personal data.
We do not share your health logs with advertisers, data brokers, or social networks.
The app shows non-personalized ads through Google AdMob. Google may process limited device/advertising data under its own privacy policy.
You can delete all data anytime in Settings → Delete all data.
3. INFORMATION WE COLLECT AND HOW WE USE IT
A. Health and wellness data you enter (stored on your device only)
When you use Season, you may enter:
Period and cycle dates, cycle length, and predictions
Symptoms, mood, notes, and daily metrics (weight, temperature, water intake)
Reminder settings
Optional first name (for greetings)
Pregnancy mode information (if enabled)
App settings (theme, symptom labels, app lock preference)
How we use it: To provide app features (calendar, journal, insights, reminders, export).
Where it is stored: Encrypted on your device. We do not upload it to our servers.
Legal basis (GDPR): Your consent and performance of the service you request by using the app.
B. Data processed by Google AdMob (third party)
Season displays banner ads through Google AdMob. When ads load, Google may collect or process:
Advertising ID (where available)
IP address
Device type, OS version, language, and approximate location
Ad interaction and delivery data
How we use it: To display and measure ads. Season requests non-personalized ads. We do not send your health logs to Google for advertising.

C. App lock (optional)
If you enable Open with lock, Season uses your device’s screen lock or biometrics through Android’s system APIs.

We cannot access your biometric templates
D. Export for doctor (user-initiated)
If you choose Export for doctor, Season creates a text file on your device and opens the Android share sheet. You choose where to send it (email, messaging, etc.). We do not receive a copy.

4. DO WE SELL OR SHARE PERSONAL DATA?
We do not sell your personal data
Season does not sell your personal information, including health data, to third parties.
Under laws such as the Virginia Consumer Data Protection Act (VCDPA), California Consumer Privacy Act (CCPA/CPRA), and similar U.S. state laws, we confirm:
What we share (limited)
Google (AdMob): Device/ad identifiers and ad interaction data (not your health logs) — to serve non-personalized ads.
Apps you choose: Export file only if you use Export for doctor and share it — user-initiated sharing.
We do not share your on-device health logs with advertisers or data brokers.

Because health data stays on your device:
Access / correct: View and edit logs in the app (Journal, Log, Cycle settings).
Delete: Use Settings → Delete all data to erase everything and restart fresh.
Export: Use Settings → Export for doctor to create a copy you control.
For AdMob-related data held by Google, use Google’s tools and privacy settings.
5.4 Virginia (VCDPA) rights
If you are a Virginia resident, you have rights under the Virginia Consumer Data Protection Act (VCDPA), including:
Confirm whether we process your personal data
Access personal data we process
Correct inaccuracies
Delete personal data we process
Obtain a portable copy of personal data you provided
Opt out of the sale of personal data (we do not sell)

6. DATA RETENTION
Health logs, journal, settings: Kept on your device until you delete them, uninstall the app, or use Delete all data.
Temporary export files: Deleted when you export again or when the app starts; removed on Delete all data.
Ad data (Google): Governed by Google’s retention policies.
Privacy contact records: Kept only as long as needed to handle your request, then deleted or anonymized.
We do not retain your health logs on our servers because we do not collect them centrally.
7. SECURITY
We use measures including:
AES-256 encrypted local storage (Android Keystore)
No cloud backup of app health data
Optional device screen lock (app lock)
Screenshot blocking while the app is open
Release builds use code shrinking/obfuscation
No method is 100% secure. Keep your device updated and use a device screen lock.
8. CHILDREN
Season is not directed at children under 13 (or the minimum age in your country). We do not knowingly collect personal information from children. If you believe a child has provided information, contact us and we will help you delete local data on the device.
9. INTERNATIONAL TRANSFERS
Your health data remains on your device. If you are outside the country where we operate, AdMob/Google may process ad-related data globally under Google’s safeguards and terms.
10. CHANGES TO THIS POLICY
We may update this Privacy Policy. We will post the new version at https://sites.google.com/view/seasonperiodprivacy/homeand update the Last updated date. Continued use of Season after changes means you accept the updated policy.
