Seashell ID — Shell Scan ("we", "our", "the App") is a seashell identification app developed and operated by Super Cloud. This Privacy Policy explains what information the App collects, how it is used, and the choices you have. By using the App, you agree to the practices described below.
When you use the identification feature, you may take a photo with your camera or choose an image from your photo library.
The photo is used only to identify the seashell you photographed. It is processed temporarily for AI identification and, if you choose to save the result to your personal collection, stored locally on your device.
Photos are never sold, shared with third parties for marketing, or used to train AI models. They are sent to an AI identification service solely to return a species result, and are not retained by that service beyond the request.
The App displays ads served by Google AdMob. AdMob may collect your Advertising ID (a resettable device identifier) and device information to serve relevant ads and measure ad performance.
You can reset or limit ad personalization at any time in your device settings (Google → Ads → Reset advertising ID / Opt out of Ads Personalization).
Anonymous, aggregated usage information (e.g., feature usage, crash reports via Google Play) may be collected to improve the App. This data cannot be used to identify you.
In-app subscriptions are processed by RevenueCat and the app stores (Google Play). We do not collect or store your credit card or other payment details. Payment information is handled by Google Play.
To provide the seashell identification service and return results.
To display ads and operate the ad service.
To process and manage your subscriptions and restore purchases.
To maintain, improve, and secure the App.
The App integrates the following third-party services, which may process data as described in their own privacy policies:
Google AdMob — Advertising. Collects: Advertising ID, device info, IP address. Policy: https://policies.google.com/privacy
RevenueCat — Subscription management & purchase verification. Collects: purchase tokens, app user ID (non-personal). Policy: https://www.revenuecat.com/privacy
AI identification providers (Zhipu / Alibaba Qwen / Google Gemini) — Recognize seashell species from your photo. Collects: the photo (transient, not retained). Policy: https://ai.google.dev/terms
Seashell ID Pro unlocks unlimited AI identifications, the full encyclopedia, unlimited collection export and removes ads.
Pro is a subscription: 4.99/month** or **19.99/year, as shown in the App.
Payment is charged to your Google Play account and automatically renews at the end of each period unless auto-renewal is turned off at least 24 hours before the end of the current period.
You can manage or cancel the subscription anytime in Google Play → Subscriptions.
No account or sign-up is required to use the App.
Your collection and identification history are stored locally on your device in the App's private storage.
Data transmitted to third-party services is sent over encrypted connections (HTTPS).
We do not operate our own servers that store your personal data.
The App is designed for a general audience and does not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you believe a child has provided personal information through the App, contact us and we will delete it.
Delete local data: clear the App's data from your device settings or uninstall the App.
Reset Advertising ID: change in device settings.
Delete identification records: remove individual records within the App (Collections / Recent).
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. Material changes will be reflected by updating the "Effective date" at the top of this page.
