Welcome

The Dry Grad Committee is comprised of parents of the Seaquam Secondary Class of 2023. We will be working hard to raise funds to organize and host an all-night celebration for our 2023 grads. Please join us by supporting our efforts to make this event the best it can be.

Dry Grad is an event which provides our kids with a safe, drug and alcohol-free environment to celebrate their graduation. It is a fully supervised fun event, sponsored by the parents. It takes place following the dinner/dance on Saturday, June 10th at the North Delta Rec Centre. Grads will be taken from the hotel to the Rec Centre by bus to the fully supervised Dry Grad event. The Dry Grad will begin at approx. 10.30pm and will end at 4am (times to be confirmed).

Grad Details from the School

The day of grad is composed of three separate events: Red Carpet Walk, Grad Banquet and Dry Grad. All three events take place on Saturday June 10, 2023.

The Red Carpet Event kicks off the formal grad celebrations for the day. It is an opportunity for grads to be celebrated and photographed by friends and family. All are welcome to attend, but please be prepared for the weather as it can sometimes be very hot. Each grad will be announced as they walk down the red carpet to be photographed. Please check your email for updates from the school in regards to red carpet - they are requesting information. If you didn't receive the email, please contact the school directly to get the information.

Grad Banquet

The Grad Banquet follows the Red Carpet event. Students will be transported, via luxury coach buses, from Seaquam to the banquet at the Wall Centre in Vancouver. This formal event includes a buffet dinner followed by dancing. Tickets to the Grad Banquet will cost approximately $175 - more information will come directly from the school on this. From the banquet, students will be transported by Coach bus to Dry Grad.

 Dry Grad

Following the Grad Banquet, Dry Grad takes place at the North Delta Rec Centre. This event is put on by the Seaquam Dry Grad committee. Grads get changed at the banquet into casual clothing for this event. There are no in and out privileges at the Dry Grad. We have security organized and parents will be called to collect any Grad who is under the influence of alcohol or anything else. Obviously we trust this will not be necessary. At the end, Grads must be picked up by a parent. No one will be allowed to leave alone. Again this is to ensure our grads get home safely.

Commencement

The Commencement Ceremony will take place on Friday, June 23, 2023 at the South Delta Baptist church. Grads will wear a grad cap and gown for this event. The cost  of the cap and gown is included within the grad fee assessed at the beginning of the school year. Commencement is free of charge to both grads and spectators. Each grad will be provided two tickets to the event. A request form for additional tickets will be circulated closer to the date of the event.
