Technology in this century moves faster than any other time I can read about or remember. Nearly every aspect of our lives can be online. These tools are imperative for low functioning people with disabilities. Talking displays are like giving sight to the blind. Before this technology maybe one person could understand this person. One person could take care of them. Now they are able to speak to anybody and join in conversation. It's amazing what human interaction can do for the mental health of individuals. I think we all learned that during the pandemic. We need each other and the more we are able to connect the happier we are. These are the machines that help make that possible.
Screen Reader - is used to read the text on a page to you. This is why alt text is so important.
Braille Displays - I would imagine these go hand in hand with a screen reader the refreshable braille display raises the words below your finger tips. They are extremely advanced technological advancements.
Screen Magnifiers - This is a low tech solution to simply make text or pictures larger on your computer or phone with a magnifying glass
Text to Speech Systems - As it says you can type out anything and have it said out loud. whether a script or term paper there are advanced AI tools being used for this today.
Talking Displays - machines that replace the voice of a disabled person.
