Fingerprinting Glacial Lake Outburst Floods in Wyoming
Currently working with Dr. Tom Minckley, Dr. Austin Madson, Dr. J.J. Shinker, and Dr. Fabian Nippgen on identifying and 'fingerprinting' the most significant glacial lake outburst flood series documented in the Rocky Mountains since the Missoula Floods.
I use remote sensing, historic photo georeferencing, archival evidence, climatic and hydrological data, and GIS for this project.
Our paper is currently under review in AGU Water Resources Research
I recently led a group to Mammoth Glacier (a 40+ mile backpacking trip) to collect sediment cores of potential historic GLOFs.
I am going to use Lead-210 to date GLOF layers, allowing me to link GLOFs to specific ice-dammed lakes indentified on historic photographs.Â

I interviewed cross-country skiers on their perspectives on respiratory issues in the sport, and how it interacts with poor air quality exposure to create a qualitative dataset on these issues.
Funded as a Wyoming Research Scholar and supported by Rachel Watson and Christi Boggs.
Presented at the 2025 International Mountain Conference and currently communicating finding with the International Ski and Snowboard Federation.
