Dani Yogatama (DeepMind, UK)

Dani is a staff research scientist at DeepMind. He received his PhD from Carnegie Mellon University.

Adhiguna Kuncoro (University of Oxford & DeepMind, UK)

Adhiguna Kuncoro is a research scientist at DeepMind and a PhD student in computer science at the University of Oxford. His research interest lies at the intersection of machine learning and natural language processing. His work has been awarded a Best Paper Award at ACL 2018 and an Outstanding Paper Award at EACL 2017. He holds degrees from Carnegie Mellon University, the University of Oxford, and Institut Teknologi Bandung. He is from Jakarta, Indonesia, and enjoys spending time with family and scuba diving.

Wittawat Jitkrittum (Max Planck Institute for Intelligent Systems, Germany)

Wittawat Jitkrittum is a postdoctoral researcher working with Bernhard Schoelkopf at Max Planck Institute for Intelligent Systems. He completed his PhD study at Gatsby Unit, University College London. He has broad research interests covering kernel methods for comparing distributions, and deep generative models. His work on fast goodness-of-fit test has received a best paper award at NeurIPS 2017. Wittawat grew up in Bangkok, Thailand.

Thang Luong (Google Brain, USA)

Thang Luong is currently a senior research scientist at Google Brain. He’s interested in using deep learning to solve language problems, specifically machine translation, question answering, and dialogue systems. He obtained his PhD from Stanford University, during which he pioneered the development of neural machine translation (NMT) at both Google and Stanford. He has given a tutorial on NMT at ACL’16, served as an area chair for machine translation at ACL’17, and created NMT’17 (the first workshop on neural machine translation).
