COURSE DESCRIPTION
This course is designed to upgrade or broaden the knowledge and skill of a welder, fitter or engine personnel in common welding processes available on board.
Trainees in this course will undergo on hands-on training that enhance their knowledge and skill as an operator of welding in accordance with the industry standards. It covers core competency such as Weld Carbon steel Plates using various welding processes such as Shielded Metal Arc Welding (SMAW),Oxygen-acetylene Welding (OAW), Tungsten Inert Gas (TIG) and Metal Inert Gas (MIG) welding processes, which they can perform more practice in fillet, groove and pipe welding in all position. The apply safety practices, use of hand tools, prepare weld materials, setup welding equipment, fit up weld materials, repair welds and metal cutting techniques are included as a common competencies. Brazing or Braze Welding is also comprised in the course as the additional skills and competencies of the welding operator on board.
