COURSE DESCRIPTION
This course covers the comprehensive competencies required to become a responsible and effective engine personnel working on board in commercial and/or passenger vessels serving the international trade.
The specific shipboard operational activities identified in this course shall prepare the trainees to perform and deliver the necessary skills and competencies needed for safe operation of vessel and for the protection of marine environment as well.
The modules will touch on ships maintenance such as the fundamental operation of Lathe Machine, the right attitude towards work and the safe operation on lathe machine that tackle in General Safety on Lathe Machine, proper procedure of measuring work piece using Vernier Caliper and Micrometer, the use of Dial Indicator for precise centering, techniques of cutting V-thread and Tapering. Hand threading and proper use of hand taps and dies are also being discussed.
