COURSE DESCRIPTION:
This course covers the comprehensive competencies required to become a responsible and effective engine personnel working on board in commercial and/or passenger vessels serving the international trade.
The modules enumerated below shall be given appropriate time allocation both for lecture or theoretical preparation and for practical application of the competencies.
The specific shipboard operational activities identified in this course shall prepare the trainees to perform and deliver the necessary skills and competencies needed for safe operation of vessel and for the protection of marine environment as well.
The modules will touch on various lathe machine operation such as, the attitude towards work and the safe operation of lathe machine that tackle in General Safety on Lathe Machine; proper procedure of measuring workpiece using Vernier Caliper and Micrometer; the use of Dial Indicator for precise centering; fundamental operation on Lathe Machine; techniques of cutting V-thread, square thread, acme thread and multiple thread; Hand Threading and Taper Turning performed in this course program.
