COURSE DESCRIPTION
This course on shipboard fitters cover the comprehensive competencies required or expected from engine personnel working on board in commercial vessels serving the international trade.
The modules enumerated in this program shall be given appropriate time allocation both for lecture or theoretical preparation and for practical application of competencies.
The specific shipboard operational activities identified in this course shall prepare the trainees to perform and deliver the necessary skills and competencies needed for safe operation of vessel and for protection of marine environment as well.
The modules will touch on ships maintenance such as Workshop Safety practices; Basic arc Welding, Gas Welding and Cutting; Use of Workshop tools, Gauges and Measuring Instruments; Overhauling of Purifier, Pumps and Valves; Basic Lathe Machine Operation; Pipe Fitting and the actual fabrication development.
For as much as detailed description of what is to be taken for the entire week of training, the modules will be discussed and tackled below.
