COURSE DESCRIPTION
The course is designed to enhance the knowledge of engine personnel to meet the minimum requirements of competence that heightened the safety feature of electrical and refrigeration works, procedures and precautions be taken to maximize the safety of engine personnel. Trainees in this course will undergo on hands-on training that enhance their knowledge and skill in safe handling of electricity and refrigeration onboard. It covers competencies such as the application of Electrical Theory, Electrical Safety, Common Electrical Machines Used Onboard, Electrical and Motor Control and Electrical Preventive Maintenance. The use of Measuring Instruments in Electricity, Reading of Electrical Symbols, Interpreting Schematic Diagram, High Voltage Equipment Operation, Air-conditioning and reefer container maintenance onboard. It covers discussion, hands-on/practical activities and assessment in safe operation, testing procedure, maintenance and troubleshooting of electrical and cooling system onboard.
