COURSE DESCRIPTION
This Deck Practical Training Course is designed to upgrade and enhance the knowledge and gain skills and competencies of deck personnel on the various operation on board that required or expected from them. It is also familiarizes to newly graduate seafarer the kind of work they will encounter on board.
The modules enumerated below shall be given appropriate time allocation both for lecture or theoretical preparation and for practical application of the competencies.
The module will touch on ship’s maintenance such as Carpentry and Plumbing; Welding and Gas Cutting; Staging and Rigging; Paint Works and Surface Preparation, Rope and Wire Rope Splicing, Safe Mooring Operation and Deck Equipment Familiarization including the overhauling and maintenance of Pumps and Valves.
