I have to say, mate. This is one of the most interesting reads I've had in a while. Took this on our flight to Orlando and to say I devoured it would be an understatement. Actually, IT devoured ME. The flight wasn't long enuff to get through it so I polished it off in the hotel room. I love how you made it like a dictionary written by a pirate hisself. The different classifications of critters on down to the personal experiences of the writer. You, sir, have one hellofa imagination to have come up with so many beasties. Thank you so very much for this tome. It will aid pirates and navigators for many years to come. Both experienced sailors and greenhorns alike.

I am a big fan of creature and monster manuals , and found this to be a perfect addition to my set.

It has great details and info about mythological creatures of the sea, plus fantastic illustrations.

A must have for people who enjoy monster lore.

 An imaginative and fantastical foray into sea cryptids!

We bought this book and we were really very impressed by its length, depth and the quality of the drawings. To see the amount of research that was done, and the excellent spin on things ("those ancients were all wrong about the hippocamp!") was refreshing. Also worthy of praise is the consistency of the pirate voice, point of view, diction, etc. the entire time. An amazing work.

I had so much fun reading this! So many cool monsters that are so beautifully illustrated! The way it's written is a ton of fun too, with witty "piratey" descriptions along with creative and funny ways to survive, should you be unfortunate enough to encounter one of these "Sea Beaties." I can't recommend this enough! If you like pirates and sea monsters, you won't be disappointed with this book!
