Scientific documents such as research papers, patents, books, or technical reports are one of the most valuable resources of human knowledge. At the AAAI-21 Workshop on Scientific Document Understanding (SDU@AAAI-21), we aim to gather insights into the recent advances and remaining challenges on scientific document understanding. Researchers from related fields are invited to submit papers on the recent advances, resources, tools, and upcoming challenges for SDU. In addition, we propose two shared tasks for scientific document understanding, i.e., acronym identification and disambiguation in scientific text.

The AAAI-21 Workshop on Scientific Document Understanding is a full-day workshop collocated with the 35th AAAI conference on artificial intelligence. Due to COVID-19, the workshop will be held entirely online via Zoom on February 9. To access the Zoom link, please login into the AAAI 2021 virtual conference website at https://virtual.2021.aaai.org. Note that registration at AAAI 2021 conference is needed to access the session.

The Scientific Document Understanding workshop also provides a poster session scheduled from 4:30 to 5:30 PM (PST) on Feb 9, 2021. The poster session will be held via Virtual Chair in Room E, accessible from the conference virtual website https://virtual.2021.aaai.org/posters.html
