Model United Nations, otherwise known as Model UN or MUN, simulates the innner workings of the United Nations. Similar to the United Nations, students acting as delegates come together to solve a myriad of different issues. The club teaches skills such as problem-solving, research, team work, negotiation, leadership, and critical thinking. It also allows students to become more globally minded as they work to solve different issues pressing the real world today.
The Process
You get assigned a country and a topic
You research your topic
You write a research paper regarding your topic and country policy (not all conferences require this, be sure to check our website!)
Submit your paper to your chairs before the deadline for a research award
Continue to research the topic prior to the conference
Arrive at the college in the morning to travel to the conference
Compete
Attend Closing Ceremonies and get your awards!
Travel back home and rest :)
