Every year, millions of people require humanitarian assistance, due to conflicts, natural disaster, etc. and in 2022 alone, 274 million people needed humanitarian assistance and protection.
Although there are humanitarian organizations providing aid to those who require them, these organizations usually only target certain groups of people, leaving many people overlooked. In addition, humanitarian organizations require a long time before their aid is delivered to their target due to the current processes. Thus, it is not enough to rely solely on humanitarian aid to fulfill the needs of those affected.
Reducing the dependency on humanitarian organizations, people in the same community as those who require humanitarian aid have stepped up to help those in need in their community. Currently, there are numerous platforms where people share live information in a crisis through public group chats on various messaging sites or social media. However, with the sheer amount of group chats existing for people to post and view information shared by the group members, it is extremely difficult to look for information in all the different groups which are in an unorganized state.
