The SDNP believes that a community-first mentality is critical to the future of SimDem. While SimDem shares many characteristics with PolSims, the SDNP would like to distinguish SimDem as not simply another PolSim. Engaging and continuous community-centered programs like the Minecraft server are a core part of what sets SimDem apart. The SDNP supports public and private efforts to develop community-centered activities and programs.
The SDNP believes that a low barrier to entry is vital to r/SimDemocracy’s success in its expansion and integration efforts. This includes: maintaining a simple and easy to understand system of government and maintaining infrastructure, such as the Discord server, that are easy to understand and become involved with, and promoting activity on the subreddit, as it provides r/SimDemocracy the most consistent opportunity for publicity. This includes ensuring all government announcements are published on the subreddit concurrently with the Discord.
The SNDP also believes that government processes must be standardized so that as the politicians in power cycle through, the public’s understanding of their actions does not diminish. This includes the proper labelling and record keeping of Executive Orders, Senate Resolutions, Court Cases, Government Forms, and other government processes.
The SDNP supports the creation of a Central Bank to encourage further development of SimDem’s economy. The SDNP believes that a lack of velocity is the most pressing issue plaguing the Tau, and that a central authority will encourage more economic activity.
The SDNP does not support an income tax in the current economic environment. The SDNP supports levying taxes on static tau. This would be implemented by levying a tax on existing tau based on how long that tau had been in one person’s possession. By levying a tax on static tau, an incentive to spend tau would be created. This would increase the velocity of the tau and economic activity within SimDem.
The SDNP believes that the law should be amended to eliminate the channel fee for active channels. The SDNP also believes that the owner of a channel should be given the permissions to modify the channel and its content without unreasonable restriction or cost.
The SDNP supports every Citizen’s right to free speech and encourages SimDemmers to promote a welcoming and accepting atmosphere in r/SimDemocracy. The SDNP recognizes that anyone in SimDem is here voluntarily, and thus free speech should not be guaranteed if it creates an overtly toxic environment within the community.
