The inaugural SDM was organized by Soo Hong Chew and Chen Zhao at the University of Hong Kong (HKU) in 2023. For the subsequent conferences, Songfa Zhong and Rui Tang joined as co-organizers. The second SDM was held at the Hong Kong University of Science and Technology (HKUST) in 2024, followed by the third at the Southwestern University of Finance and Economics (SWUFE), Chengdu in 2025. The next SDM conference will be held in Hong Kong, to be hosted by HKUST on June 22-24, 2026. Besides the organizers, David Dillenberger, Shaowei Ke, and Wooyoung Lim were the early supporters and contributors of the conference.
