Is the museum closed?
Yes, SDHC and our Junipero Serra Museum in Presidio Park are both currently closed. Please visit our website, follow us on Instagram, and like us on Facebook to get the most up-to-date information.
When will you re-open?
In order to prevent the spread of the COVID-19 virus, all parks and open spaces are partially or fully closed until further notice. For the health and safety of our visitors, staff, and volunteers, we remain responsive to local and federal guidelines as to when we can open to the public again. Can we walk around Balboa Park or Presidio Park, just to explore?
In response to directives by government officials, City Parks like Balboa Park and Presidio Park are currently closed for all activities. For more information about countywide and citywide measures for public safety, please visit https://www.sandiego.gov and https://www.sandiegocounty.gov.
Do you have any videos of tours we can watch since we can't go to the museum in person?

Is there a way for students to experience a program from home?

How can I search the Archives? Can I still do research?
The SDHC Research Archives is currently closed. However, you are always welcome to search our online catalog here: https://sandiegohistory.pastperfectonline.com. Due to our own lack of access to the collections, remote research is limited. For specific research questions, please email collections@sandiegohistory.org.
How can I learn more about how SDHC is taking history outside of the museum?
