I am an Assistant Professor in the Department of Industrial Engineering at Universidad de Santiago de Chile. I also belong to the Program for the Development of Sustainable Production Systems (PDSPS) and the Cell2fire group.

I develop mathematical optimization models and scalable algorithmic frameworks for hierarchical and stochastic decision-making. My research focuses on bilevel programming, stochastic optimization, and large-scale mixed-integer models, with particular emphasis on structrured formulations and decomposition technicques for complex desicion problems.

My works has been applied to:

Urban patrol planning and crime prevention
Wildfire strategic decision-making and prevention
Energy market planning under uncertainty
Sustainable production and remanufacturing systems
Public services such as healthcare and education

Current Research

I currently lead a Fondecyt de Iniciación project (2025-2027) as Principal Investigator, focused on the patrolling strategy and unpredictable patrol scheduling to deter crime and improve the perception of safety in urban areas from the point of view of the Stackelberg game, taking into account realistic models for the reaction of urban criminals, realistic models for the actions of the police authority, and guaranteeing the quality of the solutions in terms of the optimality gap.

Short CV

I did my Ph.D. at Universidad de Chile advised by Fernando Ordoñez and co-advised by Vladimir Marianov. The title of my thesis is Algorithms for bi-level optimization in retail: pricing, assortment and demand coordination. Also, I'm former postdoctoral research on the INOCS team of the Centre Inria de l'Université de Lille under the supervision of Luce Brotcorne. I was graduated of Industrial Engineer and Ms.C. Engineering at Universidad de Santiago de Chile. In addition, I was graduated of Ms.C. Innovation management and design production at Université Lorraine.
