An Overview of our Website
Mission Statement
Santa Clarita is a city that is bordered by mountains and brush. Year after year, our city encounters fires that continue to worsen. Yet, our community does very little to equip community members with the proper training, knowledge, and equipment to prepare and prevent wildfires. The valley has experienced many harsh fires which affected community members through the burning of homes, sudden development of breathing difficulties due to smoke inhalation, and most of all, the impact of stress, fear, and anxiety that comes with having to quickly take action and evacuate. We aim to resolve this lack of preparedness for natural disasters by providing a consistent, regularly updated emergency information website. This website will move our community members and the city of Santa Clarita to become better prepared for natural disasters, specifically fires.
The Website
This website is created by local SCV residents who are passionate about providing a resource for our community members to use to help prepare for the various emergencies that can occur in our valley.
Efforts
We live in a valley that experiences many fires every year, yet so many citizens are not prepared for them. This website provides information on how one can be informed and prepared SCV community member.
Education
This website has tabs dedicated to each city in our valley. Each tab will go into depth on the best evacuation sites for that area and what supplies are needed to be prepared for an emergency.
Efforts
As local high school seniors and residents we not only want to help ourselves and families be better prepared for emergencies, but also our community. It is with our effort and dedication for this purpose to create a website that is accessible to all and provides easy to understand information for all to help achieve our mission.
