SCV FOAM started with a couple of brothers who home brewed. One brother lived in Bakersfield and the other in Santa Clarita. The Bakersfield brother shared his home brew club with the Santa Clarita brother. The SCV brother traveled from work to Bakersfield for the meetings and drove back the next morning. He went several times, but the 3 hour drive back and forth was too much to handle. He enjoyed the FOAM club so much he was torn to have to stop attending. He wished there was a club in his own valley and that is when the idea struck him to start one in SCV. Wanting to stay connected to the club in Bakersfield he asked the Bakersfield FOAM club if he could create a FOAM chapter in SCV. The Bakersfield FOAM club discussed it and loved the idea and agreed to the use of the club name in a different city. That is how the SCV FOAM Club began and the SCV brother was grateful and as they say, "the rest is history".
