The COVID-19 Pandemic put a hold on plans in progress to launch student ePortfolios. By necessity, the focus shifted to maintaining community, continuity, and equity in teaching and learning in a virtual environment. Nonetheless, the work to building a strong foundation for ePortfolios continues despite the inconceivable, frequent, and rapid transitions forced upon faculty and students over this past year, possibly even allowing us to build exactly the foundation needed to move forward with this project.
We have been working with some of our SyraFuse Fellows to test the implementation of a variety of ePortfolio models to gather feedback that will allow us to make informed decisions as we move forward.
The PL Learner Champion Series is the foundation for the ePortfolio project in our District. Once we have a group of staff who have completed 101, 102, and 103 of this series, we will move them toward using their learner profiles, flexible learning environments, and student inquiry work to develop their own professional ePortfolios demonstrating their competency as a PL Learner Champion as well as to support students in creating ePortfolios to share their demonstrations of learning.
