ScienceChat is a mobile communication and content-sharing platform designed for individuals dedicated to science, research, and development. This Privacy Policy explains what data we collect when you use our application, how we use that data, and what rights you have.

Our application may collect the following personal data: • Account information: Email address, display name, and profile photo. • Communication data: Message content exchanged with other users. • Content data: Posts, files, images, and videos you share. • Device information: Firebase Cloud Messaging (FCM) token for push notifications. • Usage preferences: Theme selection, language preference, and notification settings.

3. How We Use Your Data 

Collected data is used solely for the following purposes: • Creating and verifying your account via email, • Providing app features (messaging, content sharing, notifications), • Remembering your personal preferences such as language and theme, • Sending push notifications. 

4. Third-Party Services 

ScienceChat uses the following third-party services: • Google Firebase (Authentication, Firestore, Storage, Messaging): Used for identity verification, data storage, and notification infrastructure. 5. Data Security 

Your data is stored on Google Firebase infrastructure. Email verification is required, and industry-standard security measures are in place to prevent unauthorized access. However, no method of transmission over the internet is 100% secure. 

6. Data Retention and Deletion 

Your data is retained for as long as your account is active. If you wish to delete your account and associated data, please contact us at the address below and your data will be removed within a reasonable timeframe. 

7. Your Rights 

You have the following rights: • Request access to the data held about you, • Request correction of inaccurate or incomplete data, • Request deletion of your data, • Object to the processing of your data. 

8. Children's Privacy

ScienceChat does not knowingly collect personal data from individuals under the age of 13. Given the science and research-oriented nature of the application, users are assumed to be at least 13 years of age.
