CarpTopia is a RP encouraged server, but not required. The rules we have will be enforced as outlined below. Please review the rules before submitting an application.
KOS : KOS is strongly discouraged. If you are KOS'd report it in #KOSReports following the instructions on that channel. If you KOS someone and they submit appropriate paper work you will be added to the Bounty list for each offense. Your bounty will increase for every subsequent violation. KOS does not apply to active bounties. If you have a bounty on your head you do not qualify for KOS complaints. If someone attacks your party, only the first kill counts as KOS the interaction has at that point been initiated and all remaining players in that group are aware they are under attack and therefore do not meet the criteria for a KOS report.
COMBAT LOGGING: Combat logging is logging out during a conflict for any reason other than bluescreen. If you bluescreen you must log back in immediately. Combat logging is a bannable offense. To accuse someone of combat logging you must have video evidence of the logout, and to defend against a Combat Logging complaint you must provide a clip of what happened causing you to log. This is a flexible rule as sometimes due to the inherent shortcomings of DayZ you may be logged out involuntarily or you may glitch to the point you have to log in order to regain control of your character. However, it will be reviewed closely and if there is evidence you logged you will need equal evidence to prove you logged involuntarily.
BASE RAIDING : Offline raiding is strongly discouraged. All offline raiders will receive a bounty. Bounty will increase with each subsequent violation.
WHAT IS A RAID: Killing a base owner within 200M of their base, destroying an obstruction to enter a base or jumping through a window. Glitching in to a base is a bannable offense. I'm not talking about jumping off your buddies shoulders I am talking about using fence kit glitches and stacking glitches, and any other glitch that we didn't list but does not involve sawing a lock destroying a wall or jumping in a window or over a barrier. To reiterate, If there is a weak point on a wall that is too close to an obstruction, if you can park a car next to it, if you can place a barrel next to it and successfully climb or jump in to a base without stacking car parts or other methods that take advantage of the games inherent shit show of programming errors, that is not a glitch. It is perfectly fine to look for ways to crawl jump or hop in to a base. It is not ok to grab a fence kit and start dancing through the fucking walls. I don't know why I have to put so many words here to explain this but apparently it is confusing. Can you jump over a wall, yes, can you jump from a building on to a fence then balance beam along the fence and fall through a window in to the base, yes you can that is called parkour or some shit, I don't know. Can you stack doors one on top of another cycling bottom one to top until you reach the stratosphere and then jump in to this guys 7 story base? NO YOU MAY NOT, DO DOORS STACK IN TO THE SKY IN REAL LIFE GOD DAMN IT? ISN'T THIS SHIT OBVIOUS TO ANYONE ELSE?? I am kidding, but you get the idea. If you can't morph through a wall in real life while holding an emote sequence and jumping with a fence and a cooking pot while simultaneously logging in and out THEN IT IS A FUCKING GLITCH! Can you walk on top of a fence? Yes, not a glitch. Do I have to list every scenario? Just chop the fuckin wall down like a civilized person then there is no questions right?
OFFLINE RAIDS: Any raid not proclaimed in #Raiders chat. If you plan to raid a base you need to know who's it is or see someone at the base. If there is no one at the base and you don't know who's base it is, it will qualify as an offline raid. If you announce the raid in #Raiders chat alerting the owner you are about to attack it will be considered a legal raid. The announcement must be made before first shot fired or attempting to gain entry to the base. Whether offline or legal the raiding party will be set on a 48hour rule not allowed to raid the base again for 48 hours. You will have 3 hours to complete raid once initiated. If you die you are not allowed to return for 48hours. If you own the base you can return as much as you want, it's your base. Do not grief a base when you raid it. Only tear down the walls or gates necessary to gain entry, it is also ok to check airlocks, but don't dismantle all the mans walls and take his nails, that's a shitty thing to do. Go find your own nails damn it!
**DO NOT POST IN RAIDERS CHAT THAT YOU ARE RAIDING BASE AT SUCH AND SUCH LOCATION IF YOU DON'T KNOW WHO'S IT IS. THIS IS THE ONLY METAGAMING THAT IS NOT ALLOWED** Stake out the base and figure out who lives there, or offline it and get a bounty that choice is yours.
Proper Raid Announcement EXAMPLE: "Hey @DonKSUIE we are about to raid your base in Sverograd."
Bannable Raid Announcement EXAMPLE: "Whichever bitch ass hoe has a base in Grishino we raidin that mutha fucka."
I.E. If you know who's base it is you may not give out specific coordinates but you may name nearby town. If you don't know who's it is either offline it or stake it out till you know who's it is.
BASE OWNERSHIP:
If you built it then it is yours. When you build a base send the coordinates to a mod or admin to designate it as yours. Base locations will be kept in a private file only accessible by mods and admins. If you don't register your base then any nare do well that wanders by can secure and claim the base, so we highly recommend you register it. If you don't like that policy then don't cry to us when someone takes your base. Bases that are not registered additionally have no offline raid protection. Transfer of ownership can only take place if player of record that registered the base transfers ownership through a DM to a mod or admin. If a base is abandoned and someone wants to claim it, notify the mods and admins first to see if it is registered. The mod/admin team will notify the owner of record and they will have 24 hours to respond if they want to keep the base.
RAIDING RULES: You may only take one deployed tent, stored tents are fair game. You may not popcorn. Popcorning is a bannable offense. You may only take 2 barrels. You may only take 1 car. You may load a car outside, but once you have entered a base and left a 100m radius you may not return for 48 hours.
ETIQUETTE We have a zero tolerance policy for racist and or sexist activity, speech, or material posted in Discord or displayed in game. You will have an opportunity to correct your action, if you repeat the offense you may be banned.
BOUNTY SYSTEM :
Bank of St. Carpicia:
The only admin protected trade zone in CarpTopia is the Bank of St. Carpicia located in Chyornaya Bay. You may not enter the bank without express permission of one of the tellers. ONLY TELLERS ARE PROTECTED. YOU CAN NOT ROB SOMEBODY AND RUN IN TO THE TRADE ZONE.
If you kill a teller inside the safe zone or steal from the bank you will be banned. See St. Carpicia Map for Safezone area. No one but the bank is allowed to build structures within this area, and any and all structures in the safezone area are protected by the admins. You can check #exchangerates to learn more about the banking system.
Lymie's General Store:
In an effort to better server Bank customers a satellite office has been opened in the Eastern Lumbermill operated by bank Employee Mr. Lymie5. This store is not necessarily a safe zone, but the property of the store is protected by the admin team. Stealing from this facility is not allowed and is punishable up to and including BANNED.
