ScrollWise is a productivity app that helps users reduce digital distractions by detecting relevant short-form content in supported social media apps and applying their selected blocking rules.
1. Introduction
Welcome to ScrollWise.
ScrollWise is an Android application developed by Preet Patel and published on Google Play under the developer name Orlanta.
This Privacy Policy explains how ScrollWise handles information when you use the application. ScrollWise is designed with a user-controlled, local-first approach. Its core blocking and digital wellbeing features are designed to process relevant information locally on your device.
ScrollWise does not operate a user account or cloud service for your app usage data. However, ScrollWise uses Google AdMob to display advertisements, and Google may collect and process certain information for advertising and related purposes.
2. Information We Collect and How We Use It
ScrollWise uses Android's AccessibilityService API because it is required for the app's core functionality.
When you enable Accessibility Service access, ScrollWise may process accessibility information such as:
The application currently in use.

Relevant screen or interface information needed to detect supported scrolling behavior.
Interaction events such as clicks and scrolls.
We use this information to identify scrolling activity, apply blocking rules, and perform automated navigation. Specifically, ScrollWise performs automated clicks only to switch tabs on TikTok (Home to Inbox) and YT Music (Samples/Spotlight to Home). For all other apps, and other parts of TikTok, it executes a single back action to redirect you without abruptly closing the app.
Accessibility data is processed locally on your device. ScrollWise does not intentionally transmit your screen content, keystrokes, passwords, or Accessibility Service data to our servers.
Accessibility Service access is user-controlled and can be enabled or disabled through Android system settings.
ScrollWise may store information needed to provide its features, including:
App settings and blocking preferences.
Selected apps or blocking rules.
Block counts and blocking history.
Daily usage or digital wellbeing statistics.
Scheduled blocking settings.
This information is stored locally on your device and is not synced to a ScrollWise cloud service.
ScrollWise uses Google AdMob to display advertisements.

5. Android Permissions and System Access
ScrollWise may use the following Android permissions and system capabilities to provide its features:
Used to detect scrolling activity and perform automated navigation (specific tab clicks in TikTok and YT Music, and single back actions for other apps and views) to redirect you from blocked content without closing the app.
Used for network-dependent services such as Google AdMob. ScrollWise's core blocking logic is designed to operate locally on your device.
Used to restore applicable background functionality after your device restarts.
Used, where applicable, to identify applications that are relevant to ScrollWise's blocking functionality.
These permissions and system capabilities are used to provide ScrollWise's features and are subject to the controls provided by Android.
6. Data Retention and Deletion
ScrollWise's functional data, including settings, blocking history, and local usage statistics, is stored on your device.
You can delete this locally stored data at any time by using your Android device's app storage controls, typically:
Open Android Settings.
Select Apps.
Select ScrollWise.
Open Storage or Storage & cache.
Select Clear data or the equivalent option provided by your device.
You can also delete locally stored ScrollWise data by uninstalling the application.
Data collected by Google AdMob is handled according to Google's own privacy and retention practices.
7. Your Privacy Choices
ScrollWise is designed to give you control over its permissions and functionality.

Enable or disable Accessibility Service access through Android settings.
Choose and change your blocking settings.

8. Security
We take reasonable measures to protect information under ScrollWise's control.
ScrollWise's core Accessibility processing and functional usage data are designed to remain on your device rather than being transmitted to ScrollWise servers.

No electronic storage or transmission method can be guaranteed to be completely secure.
9. Age Limitations & Minors' Privacy
ScrollWise is designed and intended for adults aged 18 and older. The application is not directed at children or minors, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from individuals under 18 years of age (including children under 13).
ScrollWise operates without backend servers, user accounts, or cloud databases. All accessibility detection, blocking preferences, and usage statistics remain strictly on your local device. Users can permanently erase all local data at any time by clearing app storage in Android settings or by uninstalling the application.
Advertisements are served exclusively through Google AdMob using the Google User Messaging Platform (UMP) for consent. Google manages ad delivery, personalization, and age-related advertising protections under its own policies and applicable laws.
